Die for Me – Karen Rose I read a few reviews around the blogosphere that mentioned how gory this book was. I didn’t find it too gory at all. Loved Sophie and Vito (although Mia and Reed from Count to Ten are still my faves). Loved Die for Me. A
Scandal in Spring – Lisa Kleypas I enjoyed Daisy’s story. I didn’t think I would, because Lillian stands out so much. But Daisy is sweet and I really enjoyed her and Matt’s story. What I did not enjoy was Lillian. Lillian should have stayed in her own book, and worried about her own love life, not her sister's. B-
Lover Unbound – J.R. Ward I read ALL the spoilers for this book before I even cracked a page. So I was not disappointed in the fact that Jane was a ghost. Because I didn’t really care about Jane. LOL I’m just going to keep reading this series for John and Blay. Also, I had an inkling that Blay was going to be gay, and I am not disappointed in this at all. But I do wonder, Ward has set up a universe where males and females need each other for blood. So unless Blay and his future partner find some lhesbian vhampires, I don’t know how that’s going to work. C+
The Raven Prince – Elizabeth Hoyt Part of my Kristie’s Challenge (which I don’t think I’ll finish now, on account of the slump), I really enjoyed this book. I did question the whole brothel thing, but it was still good. I liked the Raven story that started off each chapter. I look forward to The Leopard Prince. Woot. B+
Lady Beware – Jo Beverley The first JB I ever read. It was good enough that I would read more by her, but this book was not a “keeper.” The Vile Viscount seeks to marry a proper miss to gain entry into the ton? I don’t know, if he was really so vile, he shouldn’t care what the ton thinks. That would guarantee his entry. Know what I mean? C+

I really have to dig Count to Ten out of the TBR. I have the JoBev in there too, but that one might stay there for a while. ;)
I questioned the whole brothel thing in Raven Prince also, Ames. It just didn't seem to fit. I haven't started Leopard Prince yet ~ but plan to soon.
Matt and Daisy's story was cute. I liked it better than I thought I would.
I felt the same way about Lillian in Scandal. GO AWAY! LOL
See, you're doing better than me, I don't even have books to do lightning reviews for. *sigh*
I'm right along with you on The Raven Prince and Die For Me. (btw, The Serpent Prince is by far the best!)
The other's I haven't read yet, although I probably will skip the Beverly. I read one of hers ( To Rescue A Rogue)and found it perfectly "meh". Between that and your review I doubt I'll ever pick her up again.
lillian was a shrew in that book. Ugh. But I liked Matt and Daisy.
Jennie-Definitely, definitely read Count to Ten. It's very very good. LOL
Dev-Exactly. You go into SiS not expecting much and then being pleasantly surprised. :P
Holly-Did you lightning review all your past books already? LOL
Zeek-Hmm, if the JB was "meh" I'll probably not pick anything up by her for quite a while. Maybe her next book. I'm really not too intered in the rogues.
Izzie-She really was! I just wanted to smack her upside the head. LOL But she didn't seem so awful in her own book. But still-why was she so awful?
Dude! Don't do that to me...I was drinking when I read lhesbian vhampires! LOLOL
You should try JoBev's Malloren series. I love them!
Hi Ames, I hated all the twist and turns in Lover Inbound. I hope the next book is better.
Right now I am reading JD Robb's Naked in death, but I plan to finish the Wallflower series soon. How soon? Not sure, lol
C2-Ok, but they're not rogues, are they? LOL
Chantal-Did you start reading NiD based on someone's recommendation? Because someone is harassing me to hurry up and read it. hehe How many books do you have left of the wallflower series?
This is a reading slump? I'm not calling mine a slump (since I want to read and haven't had enough time).
I wish Rosie! These are reviews I never got around to writing. I read these books in October/late September.
Phew!! I would like to say I wish you weren't in a slump but I don't want you to leave me out here all alone!! Then again, you have read many more books that I have this year - are you at 150-ish like Nath?
I'm with C2 - I know we all do it but seeing 'lhesbian vhampires' there had me laughing out loud ;)
I skipped all the 'trans' scenes because they were a little too icky for me but what is it about Blay that let you know he might be gay. Or was there nothing in the book but because Ward has said he is (this could be a rumor because I have not read that myself) he might be?
I have a Karen Rose in my TBR pile - is it a series or stand alone books? You give it an A and I want ot read it pronto!!
Have you read Kresley Coles' latest? I'm walking around with it and hoping it will crack my slump wide open.
CindyS - currently reading a book about 30 pages at a time - don't think that counts as reading. At least it don't feel right ;)
Hey Ames! Great lightening reviews :D I think I'm going to start doing the same LOL. I enjoy Die For Me, but I agree that Count to Ten is the best so far :D There's just something about Mia and Reed :) Have not read Scandal and don't plan to... not going to read Lover Unbound either :D anyway, I read enough spoilers... Hmmm, didn't enjoy the Raven Prince as much as you did... the brothel thing was not good for me.
Hmmm, would your harasser happen to be Holly? lol
NID is so far so good. It's a futuristic type book. I wasn't expecting that at all. I like it :)
Nope, the Mallorens are completely separate from the Rogues (which I haven't been able to start - never in the right mood)...different era and everything. The first 5 books are about the siblings and then the next few (including her next new book, in the Spring) are about family connections.
:o)
Cindy-With Blay, when he was introduced in LR, I just kind of hoped. :P Weird thing to hope for, eh? But I like his character almost as much as I like John. And the whole revealing his character is gay came after I read LU anyway. And yeah, my slump isn't going anywhere. I'm not even reading 30 pages at a time. Ugh. But on the other hand, I've read more this year than I did last year (I'm at 156 right now. Go me!)
nath-Are you planning on reading any other Hoyt novels or are you going to wait and see what I think? LOL
Chantal-You know it! :P
C2-Ok, ok. I checked them out, and they're older and not rogue-ish anyway. LOL
hey ames, I read the Serpent Prince... or is it Bride? can't remember if it's prince or bride, but anway, I read it :D it was okay-good... but not planning to read the one in btw.
Chantal, me glad you like it :D now, afterwards, you can join the harassing club :P
