throughts from last night's reading

I read almost 200 pages of Blood Noir by Laurell K. Hamilton. It's book 16 in the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series.

The interesting thing is there have only been 2 sex scenes. I know, I'm shocked too. But one of those scenes? It takes 60 pages - they start, they stop to talk, they start again...they stop to talk again. Finally they get to it.

And Anita is so obtuse about everything! ARgh!!

Also, part of the conflict derives from the fact that Jason, Jean-Claude's pomme de sang, has an uncanny resemblance to the town's most important family's twin sons. And yet...and yet...Jason is accused of something as a teenager by his family and they're not putting two and two together. Despite the fact that everyone talks about how Jason and one of the twins were always getting mixed up.

So last night? Frustrating. But this is my crack, y'all! I can't stop!!

On the personal front - my mouth was sore last night, but the pills took care of that. One side is more tender than the other though. All in all - big chicken for nothing! And they didn't make a video of me, I wasn't that crazy. Although when the nurse saw me poking my chin (it felt massive and like it was a sponge) she showed me my face in the mirror and I pretended to scream. LOL

Ok Ames your gonna have to tell me about these Anita Blake books because Ive read SO MANY mixed reviews about them and Im SO unsure if I should read them?!?! The things Ive heard the most is that they WERE good to start off with then they were just filled with so much sex that they had no real story line and it just ended up being ridiculous...idk you let me know. :o) On another note yay Im glad your surgery went well! Told you it would...did the gas they gave you smell like puke? lol

I got an IV, not the gas. Thank goodness. My little bro says the gas stinks something fierce. LOL

And I emailed you my thoughts on Anita Blake. hehe

Yay for the surgery going well! And I get scared of simple stuff like MRIs and stuff ;)

I got the three-some of Jean-Claude, Anita and Richard and was able to close the book on the series.

Thankfully ;)

Cindy - I'm scared of needles. And here I thought I'd be laid up in days recovering. LOL I just don't like the anti-inflammatory drugs, they give me an upset stomach. And at least I don't look like a chipmunk.

I would have been happy if the ardeur crap never got written into this series. But I'm hooked, I can't help it.
