Summary: Sinjin is one of three brothers known as the Rakehells of Rochester. Sick of that moniker, Sinjin's mother demands that all three sons marry before the end of the summer. So a house party is thrown and all the young, marriageable ladies are invited to attend.
One of the ladies attending is Katelyn Davenport. She is engaged to some horrible older man and only in attendance to chaperone her youngest sister, Marilyn. Katelyn is immediately attracted to Sinjin and he with her. But Katelyn lets Sinjin know that she's engaged to someone else...which doesn't really matter because these two do it like rabbits whenever they're alone together.
My Thoughts: I was disappointed. From the glowing review, I truly thought I'd enjoy the heck out of this book. But it was very...shallow. We don't really understand why these two develop feelings for each other because whenever they're together they are not talking - and they can't publicly be seen together because Sinjin's mother wants him to marry someone else. So we don't get a clear understanding of how these two fall in love and what exactly is it about Katelyn that makes Sinjin change his rakish ways.
Also, coming from the Aphrodisia line I thought it would be more...sensual. I found the love scenes perfunctory and short (kind of like Sinjin's lovemaking). Sinjin is getting a D from me. And this review also means I am giving up on the Aphrodisia line. I will read what's already in my tbr pile, but no more new books from this publisher. Too many disappointments.

haha! Woaho! BURN!
Thanks for the warning! I woulda considered buying this because that cover is HOT,- even tho it's a historical and I've been avoiding them pretty much nowadays- but I think I'll pass! :D
Eeek! Say it isn't so! I love Julia Templeton's stories and have this one in my tbr.
I'm so glad I didn't pick this up when I saw it. Eeep!
Whoa! That's quite a cover!
Ouch, a D ^_^; Too bad you didn't enjoy it. Was it a library book?
kind of like Sinjin's lovemaking
Oh snap! The minute man strikes again?
Like Zeek I would have picked this one up (almost did the other day when you mentioned you were reading it) just because of the cover. Thanks for saving me from myself. ;0)

ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry you didn't like it Ames. I think I may have come across the same review, LOL!
Zeek-I'm nowhere near sick enough of historicals yet, but this was also a wallpaper historical. Just not believable, and yeah it's the realm of fantasy, but still just didn't work.
Barbara-I haven't read her before this book but I'd be willing to try her again. Just b/c you say she's good. LOL
C2-Those pretty covers sure are tempting, aren't they? :P
Nath-Unfortunately, no. I bought it. :(
Holly-You're welcome! LOL
Jill-Who's review was it? My blog hopping is so random I don't know where I've been over the last month. So sporadic too. :(
I think it was KatieBab's review she did last week. She gave it a B, which is rather favorable. More sensual romance is hit or miss with me. I am pretty picky.
Have you tried Beth Kerry? I read Wicked Burn based on Katie's recommendation and I thought it was pretty good.
I have read Beth Kery. I read Wicked Burn and really enjoyed that. LOL I have Daring Time in my tbr pile and I'm eyeballing her latest release. I love the cover.
See, we must be on the same wavelength. I like the plot of Kery's latest. I might try that one. I haven't gotten it yet though.
As I started to read the review I thought that it sounded familiar, and wondered if I read it, then I dawned on me that this is the book you told me about that was such a huge disappointment.
Hawt cover, though.
